ROSSI EP SERIES Planetary reducers are used in almost all areas of application that require high torques, maximum load capacity, high transmission ratio, high efficiency and service life, small dimensions and weights.
1. DIMENSIONS The planetary reducer is significantly more compact than a standard gear reducer, angular gear reducer or worm gear reducer and is therefore easier to install in the structure. A simple and functional design for installation on a flange, shaft with feet or socket version. Smaller clearance, greater stiffness and load capacity for heavy loads.
2. WEIGHT A planetary gear weighs about ½ less than a comparable conventional reducer (worm, linear or angular) and carries a higher max. torque.
3. PRICE Due to serial production and new technology for the production of planetary gears with internal toothing with pull-out pins, production technology has become significantly cheaper in recent decades, as well as modular installation have contributed to greater economic competitiveness of planetary reducers.
4. HIGH TRANSMISSION RATIOS AND HIGH TORQUES With the load distributed over 3 planetary gears, high torques can be transmitted even with relatively small compact dimensions of the transmission, and with the successive installation of gear stages, the highest transmission ratios >20,000 can be achieved.
Given their size, they have high torsional stiffness and low backlash, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.

Examples of the use of ROSSI planetary reducers in an angular version with an elastic torque lever. Planetary reducers have a hollow toothed shaft instead of a cylindrical shaft with a pin for easier assembly and maintenance. This version is much smaller than classic reducers and can transmit much higher torques per unit volume.
Example of a water-dam drive with ROSSI planetary reducers for maximum torques >100,000 Nm to 3 million Nm. Mounting of the planetary reducer via the flange and the version with the output shaft on which there is a geared coupling. With this implementation, we ensure exact alignment between the drive and the working machine without radial deviation.
An example of replacing an old FLENDER double worm gearbox with poor <50% efficiency with a ROSSI planetary drive with >92% efficiency to drive a chain conveyor for pipe transport. Large gear ratio i=1500 and output torque >80,000 Nm. The electric motor is connected to the gear via a chain coupling.
An example of the use of ROSSI planetary drives in the angular version to drive a 45kW schreder for grinding car tires. Due to the need for a more compact design and high torque, the ROSSI planetary reducer is practically the only possible solution, because it is 3x smaller in space with the same torque as a classic reducer.
An example of the use of ROSSI planetary reducers powered by hydraulic motors. For large transmission ratios and high torques and in cases where it is not possible to install classic gear drives due to space limitations.
